According to the Thailand Tourism Council, several residents and tourism operators surveyed want Thailand to reopen its borders to foreign visitors with a 14-day quarantine still in place (TCT).

A TCT survey found 60% of locals and 50% of tourism operators agree with the idea.
Quarantine was considered necessary, with 60% of operators agreeing only when visitors use a special tourist visa and have a 14-day quarantine.

Only 39 per cent of locals polled approved the lifting of the quarantine for travellers from low-risk countries, while half of the operators agree.
From Nov 11-Dec 10, the TCT surveyed 785 tourism-related operators and 1,444 Thais.

According to the survey, in the fourth quarter last year, travel firms topped the rate of business closures, with 2 per cent of businesses permanently closed, 17 per cent temporarily closed and 4 per cent moving to other businesses.
Even though 77 per cent of the surveyed tour companies still operate, most of them reported little or no demand.
45 per cent of Thais consider the virus situation to be their main concern in the survey.
Their travel decisions are followed by financial status (38%), travel time (28%), and political unrest (13 per cent).
