Thailand to invest one billion baht in Covid-19 research and production

According to the government spokesman, Anucha Burapachaisri, the relevant agencies in Thailand are speeding up their research on COVID-19 vaccines so that they are quickly made available to the public. In addition to that, the National Vaccine Institute (NVI) assigned a 1-billion-baht budget.

Mr. Anucha said Thailand was able to control and limit the spread of COVID-19 effectively. The World Health Organization (WHO) and other international organizations are praising the country's public health system.

The Thai Government, with the guidance of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the Government sees great importance in the development and production of Thailand's COVID-19 vaccine so that Thai people will get a safe and effective vaccine as soon as possible.

The NVI has received a budget of 1 billion baht from the Government. This funding will be allocated to support the work of the NVI and its partners and to reinforce cooperation among the country's research and development institutions and vaccine producers. The budget will also support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Medical Science Department in manufacturing vaccines and entering discussions with China and Europe on vaccine production technology.
