To combat the spread of Covid-19, police are now focusing on busting house parties and other social gatherings. Large parties and nightclub hopping setting off a new wave of the coronavirus, which has an epicentre in Bangkok's Thong Lor district. The Royal Thai Police are now ordered to delay the crackdown on drunk driving to focus on stopping illegal social gatherings.

Officers are on the lookout for loud music, party lights, and venues that break the Covid-19 closure orders. They're also keeping an eye on social media or traffic to see if people are flocking to a particular area. Police are also asking the public to report any illegal gatherings or parties.

To contain the spread of Covid-19, police will focus on stopping private parties and other social gatherings in 18 provinces classified as "red zones" under strict control, including Chon Buri and Bangkok. There are also policies and rules for police officers to follow to protect themselves from the virus as one of the emergency orders.

While this drunk driving campaign has been put on hold, officers may still set up road checkpoints for crime prevention.
