Phanganist Hostel bring you a Bass Night Special Edition this Friday April 14th with Vibe Soundsystem!
Tapps will join them for this special night!
Hey Tapps, how have you ended up in Thailand...
Having performed at several events in the Maldives and Sri Lanka, it was time for me to travel to a new place. I was interested in checking out the DnB scene in Thailand.

What got you initially interested in music particularly DnB etc?
I was in London back in 2010 when I first started listening to DnB. I went to the Fabric nightclub with a few friends to see Andy C live. Ever since then, I got hooked on DnB.
How and when did you start to DJ?
Starting with the drums, I began playing music at a very early age. It was not until the late 90s, I tried mixing on a friend's CDJ. From then on, it was easy to adapt to deejaying.

What are your influences?
One of my biggest influences is Andy C. Listening to his speed mixing at several different shows motivated me to challenge myself and go further.
In regard to music production, I would say Noisia. Their creativity with sound left a huge impact not just within DnB, but also Electronic music.
How did you meet Vibe Soundsystem?
I first met Klynton in Malaysia. We talked for a little while about music and organising events. Since then, we stayed in touch. I'm honoured to receive an invitation to perform at a Vibe Soundsystem event.

How is the scene in Bangkok?
I visited Bangkok in the early 90s. Since then, it has changed a lot in so many ways. But most of the people are still the same - kind and friendly.
You will play Phanganist on 14th April, have you been to Koh Phangan before?
I heard a lot of great things about Koh Phangan. This would be my first visit, I'm really stoked to be going there.
What do you hope to bring to the crowd on the night?
To connect with the crowd on a spiritual level. Keep them steppin, share the love and good vibes.

What are your plans for the year ahead?
My main focus this year is on music production. I will be organising and performing at a few events around the Maldives and Sri Lanka as well.
And leave us with your life philosophy...
If we learn to be aware of ourselves and our surroundings, have patience and give ourselves room to understand and accept differences, the world would be a much better place.
Music has the power to heal people. Share it with love, coexist in peace.
