DJ Uone attended his first Jungle Experience in 2010, and after witnessing the vibe & atmosphere that the party created, always dreamt of coming back and playing.
Here he tells us a bit about his music and what he brings to our magical island....
What is your Koh Phangan Story?
My friend and label boss from Heinz Music Marcus Meinhardt connection with the island also inspired me to reach out. Thankfully some new connections were made with locals Heather & Astrayma which then enabled the possibility of performing which came to life very quickly. Also being based between Melbourne & Berlin, it was an easy stop over enroute my European tour.
Where have you played on Koh Phangan so far?
I have played at Jungle Experience. The idea of playing deep in the jungle rather than a typical beach party is very exciting. I had also heard great things about the party, the musical programming, the people who come to dance & the jungle experience generally has a good reputation. Performing at jungle was nothing short of incredible. From the first steps into the jungle and onto the dance floor, I was warmed by the entire experience. It honestly felt like I was entering a festival environment; the lights, decoration, art and event organisation was at a high standard. Upon commencement of my first track I had the feeling that the people were open to the sound I was sharing & in the party headspace which is what I love the most.
What do you think about Koh Phangan music and party scene?
The island is fast becoming one of my favourite places in the world, the vibe, the people, the energy, it really is paradise. I’m also so happy and impressed that there is such a strong & dedicated crew of people behind the deep house and tech scence.
What genres of music do you like to play?
Deep, sexy, slightly trippy house music. I like to take people on a journey through the sonic cosmos & beyond.
What are projects are you currently involved with / What are your next projects?
Right now I’m embarking on a 7 week tour in Europe, mostly at Festivals including cities like: Zurich, Berlin, Hamburg, Poland, Belgium & UK . After that I will head to California for Burning Man and Symbiosis. Beyond this I Invest most of my heart and soul in my love child Vision Hound (events, art and touring business) and also Chi Wow Wah Town, a special gathering in Melbourne in February 2016.
