When did you first come to Koh Phangan?
I came almost three years ago when I started an Asia tour. I had a couple of shows in Bangkok and everybody said I must come to Koh Phangan.

They told me check it out, so I came and I think I did one show and then I did all of my India tour.

After this I had one month off so I came here and played a lot, Halfmoon, Fubar, Pirates Bar, Backyard, all whilst trippin on dengue fever!

So are you mainly based in India?

I spend half a year in India based in Goa but playing in other cities where they have the budget like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore among others.

The rest of the year I am between South America and Europe.

What do you like about India and tell us about the House music scene there...
India, first of all I love the food. During the season there’s no rain for six months so it is an endless summer!

India is an economy that is growing, it’s now the sixth biggest in the world so the fees are good and the scene is growing as with everything in India so I think I have a pretty good quality of life.

I ask this question because most people talk of the ‘Goa Trance’ so most people associate India with Trance...
There is a huge Psy Trance scene over there but now because of so many tourists coming from all over the world the scene is getting bigger, so this means different flavours and tastes will also evolve.

Also people who go for the Trance are not going for House and Techno.

What do you think of the Koh Phangan scene since you have been coming?
I think that after the curfew there’s a lot that has changed, the scene got more compact and more regulated.

Besides the three big parties; Halfmoon, Jungle Experience and Waterfall Party, the smaller satellite parties are struggling to survive and I don't see that the scene should just ‘stand by’. Besides the international Djs that Samui have, here the scene is a bit static, it’s always the same names so there’s not a lot of new music things that can surprise you.

Different places but the same names and the same music, even if it is good but if you hear the same artist twenty times it’s not funny anymore.

Tell us about your record label ‘Rural’…

Rural starts as a way to show how the real life or nature lives in the modern civilisation and vice versa.

That’s why from our image to the music we want to release, you will always find a bit of an organic concept.

We have a couple of releases so far with artists from ‘Get Physical’, ‘Mobilee’ and so on, so we just try to deliver quality music because we know we’re not gonna make money selling records, that comes from showcases.

So we are willing to release music we like to hear.

So you have been here just one week this time, did you squeeze in any gigs?

Yeah I played Sandcastle twice, unfortunately at the time I arrived I wasn't able to get into the venues I played before but it's good to put something on the side so I can come back.

What do you do in your homeland when you’re there?
I’m producing on the go all the time, I think the best job in world is one that you can do for free but they pay you, so I enjoy the time in the studio to produce even when I am travelling so it’s 24/7 work.

The thing is I can come to work places like here also, like a working holiday but of course not all the time.

What are your main projects for the rest of the year?

Next week I will start the European tour with a couple of shows in Cataclaw, Barcelona, Paris Berlin and more.

Then organise all the releases for the record label plus the radio and tv show.

After July it is then the raw showcases in Argentina.

What do you enjoy about Phangan in your free time?
I went to Haad Yao beach with my computer and was producing from there in front of the water.

Also the bar on the cliff near secret beach, I was working in front of it and it was crazy beautiful.

Of course the food at the night market and the market outside of Bic C but my favourite beach is Thong Nai Pan.

And leave us with your music philosophy?

To contemplate the impermanence of the party.

People go there just to enjoy the time and not to think about it tomorrow so they give themselves 100%, this is why I want to deliver a journey.

Good music without a context doesn’t make any sense so you need to write it in a smart way.

Look front, get out of your head, look to the people and connect to the people.
