The beautiful island of Koh Tao is a fantastic place to visit with the whole family.  The island today relies heavily on scuba diving schools and PADI certification centres to support its economy. This is a must-visit location in Thailand if you wish to participate in bubble training.
It is possible to plan activities for both experienced and novice divers, and even older children are welcome.

Getting to Koh Tao

You can get to Koh Tao in a variety of ways. You have the option of flying to Koh Samui or Chumphon or using surface transportation (bus or rail) to Chumphon. The final part, regardless of which technique you use, will be a ferry voyage to the island.
Flying: Take a Nok Air or Air Asia flight from Bangkok Don Muang Airport (domestic airport) to Chumphon or Suratthani, then take a ferry to Koh Tao. Both of these airlines have partnered with ferry providers to offer a combined flight and boat ticket on their websites.
Bus: Take a bus from Bangkok to Chumphon, then connect with a ferry to Koh Tao; your combined ticket should be purchased in Bangkok.
Train: Take the train to Chumphon in the south. Overnight sleeper options are available that connect to the morning ferry to Koh Tao. Your ferry ticket can be purchased in advance at a train station in Bangkok or Chumphon, or online.

Benefits

Perfect weather, sea trips, snorkelling with kids, and sailing around the island are all part of the Koh Tao experience. Koh Tao is all about connecting with nature, listening to exotic birds sing, and witnessing the relaxing movements of waves on beaches made of delightfully white, silky sand. All of this is great for children and adults too.

Areas to stay

There are a few distinct neighbourhoods on Koh Tao, most of which are centred around the island's several bays. We recommend visiting at least three or four distinct neighbourhoods on each visit to Koh Tao to get a good sense of the island.
On Koh Tao, Mae Haad is the main town and ferry port. This village, which has a large selection of stores and restaurants, is also where you'll find the best lodging alternatives. Mae Haad has something for everyone's budget, from boutique hotels to backpacker hostels.
Sairee Beach is located north of Mae Haad. This is the island's liveliest and most energetic region, with the best pubs, clubs, and nightlife establishments.
To go to Chalok Baan Kao and Thian Og Bays, travel south of Sairee and Mae Haad. These locations, which are located on the island's southern shore, are known for their beautiful beaches, quiet shallow waters, and diverse wildlife.
Tanote Bay is located on the island's east shore. This harbour, which is difficult to get, has stunning natural landscapes and beautiful beaches. This area is quieter than the rest of the island, the bay makes up for its lack of nightlife with breathtaking vistas.

Activities

Diving and Snorkelling

Did you know that youngsters as young as ten years old can go diving and get their PADI Open Water certification on Koh Tao? PADI courses and dive centres are the most popular choice by consumers all over the world because of their high standards in terms of safety, skills, and supervision. Koh Tao Open Water classes are quite popular among those wishing to learn to dive, and even kids who have dived in other areas on past vacations are never disappointed by fun diving. The dive sites on Koh Tao are shallow and teeming with bright coral reefs and tropical species. There is much to keep children entertained on a snorkel excursion if they are too young or don't want to do scuba diving.

Swimming

As well as being able to swim in the pools and sea, Koh Tao also has a swimming school. Splashdance n Swim is run by an independent and fully qualified swimming instructor, offering a range of aquatic programmes that develops confidence in swimming, snorkelling and water survival techniques.

Koh Tao Leisure Park

Play golf across the Golden Gate Bridge or through Stonehenge on the 18 hole minigolf course which is Floodlit at night. They also have 2 Petanque courts, 5 pool tables, foosball, pinball and live sports on weekends. They have a Kids soft play area and family garden with a trampoline, swings and a slide.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a part of Thailand's long history, and it holds a special place in the hearts of the Thai people. It can be quite beneficial to the younger crowd because it is a beautiful discipline.
Muay Thai is growing increasingly popular on Koh Tao, thanks to its open-air outdoor gyms and well-trained teachers, which are a significant lure for many. Muay Thai may be very beneficial to children, and they should try it at least once to get a taste of it.

Boat Trips

Many firms provide boat tours around the island, or you may inquire at your resort, which will most likely be able to arrange one for you and your family. Sail around the island with your family and take in its beauty from a new perspective while stopping for some swimming or snorkelling.

Beaches

Koh Tao is a lovely island, and what is it surrounded by? Beaches! A beach is a great place for kids to create sandcastles, run around, discover little pools, or simply relax and play with their pals.

Summary

Koh Tao is an excellent destination for families with children of all ages. The island offers healthcare, recreational spaces, and an all-important outdoor lifestyle that is appropriate for anyone in their earliest years of life or of any generation!
