Talking Detox with Sandra

Sandra has been residing on Koh Phangan for more than 15 years.  
She came here first time in 2004 because her best friend, whom she had known since her University days back in Paris, invited her over to be the witness to her wedding to a local Thai. Two years later, she came back here to stay! 
Up until 2020, together with her husband, they had the Moontribe Fashion Stores, which they decided to sell so that Sandra could move on to doing something different, something that she enjoys doing much more, with Health & Wellness being her passion for many years…

Phanganist managed to catch Sandra for a short interview.
Hi Sandra, thank you for this interview.
Q:  How and why did you start Fasting? 
A: I have been self-practising detox and fasting for about six years. I started ‘experimenting’ with all this when I started experiencing some hormonal disorders in my body due to my perimenopause, with side effects such as fatigue, hot flashes and putting weight on, which I usually never did. 
It was recommended to me by my (late) sister, a well-known healer, to fast and see if it helps, and I was surprised and impressed at how it changed my life as soon as I completed my first Five. Days of Fasting!
Not just with my perimenopause, but with my whole health in general.

Q: How and when did you start coaching your Detox & Fasting Programs?
A: Some close friends (both men & women), who knew that I had been fasting regularly, and could see clearly that I was getting healthier and even looking younger, started asking me if I could coach them in my way on how to fast & detox.
So in May 2021, using my own experiences, I created my method for beginners and came up with a Nine-Day Accompanied Group Program.
We made this first ‘test’ using the program that I came up with, and it was a massive success with my first group of six friends.
After that, upon my friends’ recommendations to others, many people, most of whom I didn’t even know, started contacting me to do it with me. After that, I started holding monthly programs for customers.

Q: So you are self–taught?
A: I learned a lot by myself because health and food are my passion anyway. 
As Hippocrates says, “Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food.” 
This is precisely what I want to share with other people.

But to become more professional, I took an online course (from France) for six months last year. In March 2022, I became a fully certified Naturopath, Specializing in Fasting & Detox Programs.

Q: What does your Program consist of?
A: It’s a Nine-day Accompanied Group Program for beginners and people who don’t want to do it alone. We are doing an easy, doable liquid fast (with juices and vegetable broth), which I consider the easiest and safest way for people to begin detox and fasting.
The course consists of; 3 Days Pre Fast Guidance, + 3 ½ Days of Fasting with the group being coached by me at SIAM Healing Centre, + 3 Days Post Fast Guidance (with a fast-breaking meal).
I accompany my students every step of the way so that they shall fast under my supervision, under the best of conditions, with kindness and pleasure.
During the three days of fast (from 9 am to 3 pm), we all stay together (a group of 6 to 12 people) at SIAM Healing Centre, and I guide my students with a genuinely concerned approach to their well-being through animations such as; Group Discussions, Yoga Classes, Sound Healing with Tibetan Bowls, Workshops, Sauna, Documentaries…
I particularly like these three days with the group where we get to spend quality time together, moments of sharing intense emotions, understanding and support. Group energy is of great help in this detox process.

This program is thorough and made to lead my clients towards better health, regenerate their immune system, and guarantee an energy boost!
My program here on Koh Phangan is available in English and French and online (group or individual coaching / only in French).

✅ Phase 2: ‘𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆’.
From day one to day three, you will start with the three-day food descent phase (at home under my guidance).
✅ Phase 3: ‘𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴’.
From day four to day six, we shall all be together, every day, at SIAM Healing Centre from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Together we shall do a liquid fast consisting of vegetable and fruit juices (2 per day) and vegetable broth (1 litre per day).
Your days will be fulfilled by; Group Discussions, Meditations and Relaxation, Documentaries, Various Workshops, Yoga Classes, Sound Healing, Sauna and more…
